Expert NYC Registered Dietitian Nutritionists and Certified LEAP Therapists help identify food sensitivities with the MRT. Identify nutritional risks and develop strategies to guide your loved ones to eat well and live well with ASD. Target the gut-mind connection for improved digestive health and behavior.
The CDC reports that ASD affects an average of 1 in 54 children in the United States and over 5 million adults. ASD is a complex developmental and neurological condition. It is not uncommon for people living with ASD to experience gut and digestive issues, many of which are due to food allergies and sensitivities. The CDC, too, reports that those with ASD are over twice as likely to experience food allergies than those without.
Moreover, people with ASD may experience repeat behaviors and restricted interests which can spill over into how they experience food. This can lead to nutritional deficiencies, weight gain, weight loss, and constipation, among other nutrition problems, adding another layer of complication to an already complex disorder.
As registered dietitians and CLT (Certified Leap Therapists), taking the guesswork about what is making you or your child or teen with ASD feel bad is the first positive step toward nutrition therapy. The MRT tests 170 foods, additives, and chemicals to identify hidden inflammatory responses to foods and chemicals.
Using the information from the MRT, you can begin the LEAP protocol — a personalized diet that will give your child or teen’s body the chance it needs to heal. We only work with children and teens that complete the MRT protocol.
We also work closely with adults who are living with autism. Your personal registered dietitian and nutrition consultant will analyze nutritional deficiencies and excesses, dietary patterns, medical history, and medications so they can begin to introduce new foods into you or your child’s diet, break unhealthy dietary habits, and help you establish habits to live a healthier, more vital life. We can help patients and their families achieve a healthier, more balanced life.
With the MRT, identify food sensitivities. Rule out medication interactions.
Identify nutritional risks.
Develop strategies to introduce challenging foods.
Target gut to improve digestive health and behavior.

It was very informative and helpful. I learned a lot on my visit with Dr Nikita Kapur. She was very easy to talk to and I got some good suggestions. I left really thinking about how to work on my eating composition
We met Nikita kapur and she is outstanding. She was very knowledgable and gave a realistic advise on diet. In today's social world its important for the dietician to look at all outlooks and she explained us everything with so much details. Diet is about balanced eating and have been following her advice since we met her and already feel a difference! She is amazing !!!
Met with Erika and she was lovely. Very nice and easy to talk to. She offered up a test/solution based on my issues described and I left with a solid plan of action. Looking forward to working with her more and seeing if we can get to the bottom of my problems.
I have been going to Compass for some time now and Erika is just the best. She is very understanding and works with you to tailor my eating habits and does not look to take things away. She has helped me discover how to eat better with simple changes. I recommend her to anyone looking for a great nutritionist.
Erika helped me get unstuck off a weight plateau I've been stuck on for 10 years. It's amazing.
I had my first appointment with Dr Nikita Kapur today and she was wonderful. She communicated a ton of information, but broke things down in a way that was easy to understand and digest. I was recently diagnosed with SIBO (and have autoimmune diseases) and went to her to help with reintroduction of foods, but learned so much more. While I feel there is a long road ahead of me, I feel confident that with her guidance, I will get my gut health to a good place.
Nikita has been an instrumental guide in helping me navigate the recovery process after a SIBO diagnosis and working through the elimination/reintroduction diet. I know folks with IBS dealing with these elimination diets on their own and they all wish they could have access to a nutritionist throughout the process - I'm lucky to have been referred to Compass by my GI doc and lucky to have Nikita keeping me sane through the process.
Met with Nikita Kapur today and got some great advice on ways to improve diet and wellness game. Thank you, Nikita.
Many claim to be a nutritionist. But only a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) meets rigorous academic requirements with clinical training, holding a degree from an accredited university. Our RDNs stay informed of guidelines set by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to provide our patients with expert nutrition counseling.
