Take the guesswork out of what you can eat. With the guidance of NYC certified nutritionists, make your pantry the first place to go to treat or prevent diabetes, fatty liver, and metabolic syndrome.
According to the American Diabetes Association, in 2018, 34.2 million Americans had diabetes, and in 2015, 88 million American adults had pre-diabetes. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease affects 1/4 of the American population and is the most common liver disease in the western world. Up to 1/3 of US adults have metabolic syndrome — a group of conditions that occur together that can increase a person’s chance of heart disease, stroke, and Type 2 diabetes.
Because of how common they are, and because Pre-diabetes, diabetes, fatty liver, and metabolic syndrome can cause serious, and chronic health conditions, they have become a public health priority. The numbers are alarming, but aggressive lifestyle and nutrition changes can treat, delay, prevent, and even reverse diabetes (pre-diabetes), a fatty liver, and metabolic syndrome.
Research shows that a healthy diet and weight are the most effective ways of decreasing risk or symptoms associated with diabetes, fatty liver, and metabolic syndrome. With the guidance of a NYC certified nutritionist and registered dietitian, learn how to modify your diet to control your blood sugar levels, blood pressure, cholesterol and triglyceride levels, while reducing fat deposits in the abdomen. You don’t have to give up your favorite flavors and family traditions. It’s all about moderation, modification, and learning how to eat your way to a healthier you.
Take control of your health, one bite at a time.
Reduce blood glucose levels.
Reduce fat deposits in the abdomen.
Reduce blood pressure.
Set, and achieve, realistic weight goals (and maintain them).

It was very informative and helpful. I learned a lot on my visit with Dr Nikita Kapur. She was very easy to talk to and I got some good suggestions. I left really thinking about how to work on my eating composition
We met Nikita kapur and she is outstanding. She was very knowledgable and gave a realistic advise on diet. In today's social world its important for the dietician to look at all outlooks and she explained us everything with so much details. Diet is about balanced eating and have been following her advice since we met her and already feel a difference! She is amazing !!!
Met with Erika and she was lovely. Very nice and easy to talk to. She offered up a test/solution based on my issues described and I left with a solid plan of action. Looking forward to working with her more and seeing if we can get to the bottom of my problems.
I have been going to Compass for some time now and Erika is just the best. She is very understanding and works with you to tailor my eating habits and does not look to take things away. She has helped me discover how to eat better with simple changes. I recommend her to anyone looking for a great nutritionist.
Erika helped me get unstuck off a weight plateau I've been stuck on for 10 years. It's amazing.
I had my first appointment with Dr Nikita Kapur today and she was wonderful. She communicated a ton of information, but broke things down in a way that was easy to understand and digest. I was recently diagnosed with SIBO (and have autoimmune diseases) and went to her to help with reintroduction of foods, but learned so much more. While I feel there is a long road ahead of me, I feel confident that with her guidance, I will get my gut health to a good place.
Nikita has been an instrumental guide in helping me navigate the recovery process after a SIBO diagnosis and working through the elimination/reintroduction diet. I know folks with IBS dealing with these elimination diets on their own and they all wish they could have access to a nutritionist throughout the process - I'm lucky to have been referred to Compass by my GI doc and lucky to have Nikita keeping me sane through the process.
Met with Nikita Kapur today and got some great advice on ways to improve diet and wellness game. Thank you, Nikita.
Many claim to be a nutritionist. But only a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) meets rigorous academic requirements with clinical training, holding a degree from an accredited university. Our RDNs stay informed of guidelines set by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to provide our patients with expert nutrition counseling.
